University of Maryland sophomore Sara Schulkowski has been playing acoustic guitar since middle school. She recently signed up to join a music club on campus that does open mic nights at The Barking Dog. Last year she played and sang during open mic nights at Potbelly's on Route 1.
Schulkowski, 19, spends a majority of her study time in her room with her nose buried in her biology textbook. She shares a dorm on South Campus with her best friend from high school.
After a year of struggling to choose a major, Schulkowski finally decided to study Environmental Science. She hopes to work on the sustainability and the protection of our environment as well as the conservation of natural resources.
